Sole report on the Harley-Davidson Lifestyle Dulcie Motorcycle Boots
As my ongoing "sole searchin" path continues, today let’s check out a pair of Lifestyle Harley Davidson Boots – the Dulcie.
Here’s the generic basic boot info:
Full grain leather upper, strap and buckle on vamp, strap with snaps on collar, pull strap in back for easy entry, full length cushion sock lining, fashionable 10" shaft height, 1" Heel height, locking inside zipper, round toe, simulated leather outsole with rubber, Goodyear construction.
Now let's translate that to actual touch n feel. Upon first glance I like what I see, however, as the victim of one too many "boot buzz kills", let’s put them on and them make our assessment. Let’s also keep in mind this style is from HD Footwear’s Lifestyle collection, it’s not made to be a super duty moto thrasher boot and is available to mainstream retailers, not that just as a dealer exclusive.
The boots feel nice, not heavy duty riding nice but comfortable enough to wear out and about for the day even when not on the bike. I like the round toe, the inside zip makes for easy on and off and I like the nice flat sturdy feeling of the sole. These have a little more room in the shaft which also offers enough room to tuck your pants in, along with not having a cumbersome bulky look if you'd rather wear your pant over the boot. They have a detailed strap at the top with two detailed snaps that allow for a little bit of adjustment, which is nice for chicken leg peeps like me. I’d like the strap to lay flat on the boot which it doesn’t. The top detail strap is designed to fit a bit loose which seems kind of funky and the end of the strap feels a little incomplete without having a place to secure it. I’m sure most people wouldn’t even notice, but I’m on sole mission to not let any detail step away. I do like the way they feel on and they fit pretty much true to size with just the slightest bit of heel slippage. This isn't enough to bug me or feel funny when shifting gears or riding, just something a picky sole searcher like me would pick up on. I like the bottom which has a signature HD along with the rubber bottom having some heavy duty looking sole traction.
I’m always looking for other color options besides black to step out in, so I love that these are available in both black and brown.
