Below - a note of thanks from Brenda

The support I've received means more to me that words could ever express.
I never thought I would be dealing with Breast Cancer and other health issues.
In March of this year I found myself dealing with breast cancer. I've been thru a lot in my life with health challenges, but never expected to deal with this. I figured older women worry about this. I was wrong!
I also never thought I would be alone. I was engaged that morning and thought my life was perfect.
When I discovered I needed immediate health attention, I had plans of marriage, a beautiful baquette diamond engagement ring sat on my left finger and I was planning my move to Kelowna Canada. The man who promised to always be there for me was at the shop in Canada working on this custom bike in the photo we called “Goldmember”. I spoke to my fiance that morning who was prepping this bike for an upcoming bike competition,  but his reaction to the health issues I was now facing devastated me more than words could express. After three great years being there for him, that very morning discussing our future plans together, he constantly told me he was my family...until later that day when I had the shock of learning I'd have to deal with Breast Cancer. I never imagined he would leave me to deal with this on my own. It didn't matter to him that just that morning in talked of spending the rest of our lives together. What kind of person was I engaged to? What kind of person would do this? When all this happened I'd been promoting him for an upcoming bike show, he went to the bike show, strangers took me for medical treatment.
He never came down  ...No offers to be with me thru the terror of waiting for malignacy tests. I recieved text messages that said sorry. After years of believing my best friend would always be there for me - Text messages? He called with lame excuses. He knew I had no family support. There are NO words that come close to describing the emotional terror of being abandoned in a time of need.

Physically I'm strong, I knew I could deal with the physical issues, but to be treat like I was already dead
as soon as Breast Cancer was mentioned was too much to deal with. My life changed overnight.
I NEVER saw it coming.

My body went into what the doctors called a crisis state.
They said dealing with breast cancer; having the fiancé bail, no financial support and no insurance was too much. My body started shutting down causing other medical complications.

I didn't fear death. I feared that I didn't want to live.
Life was heading for a cliff full throttle with no brakes.
Then word got out in the motorcycle community what I was going thru. I’ve been embraced by familiar faces and strangers who ride motorycles with bigger hearts than I’ve ever known.

Thank you to Cyril and thank you to each and every one of you!

Thank you to Womenmotorcyclist.com for setting up this site to support me!

Thank you to Malcolm Smith - my "On Any Sunday" Advisor!

Thank you to Alecia Moore aka "P!NK" -  PLAY BIG!  "I'm NOT Dead" Advisor!

You folks picked me up when my life took a supercharged, fuel injected slam to the ground.

With infinite love & gratitude!
Brenda

Harley Davidson aquires MV Agusta
It's comfirmed Harley-Davidson has purchased all MV Agusta Group shares for a total consideration of approximately 70 million Euros (about $110 million), which includes the satisfaction of existing bank debt for approximately 45 million Euros ($70 million).” MV Agusta Group is a privately held corporation where the Castiglioni family owned 95 % of MVAG shares. During this last year MV Augusta had severe financial problems with its 2 lines of motorcycles, the high-performance sport motorcycles sold under the name MV Agusta, and the lightweight motorcycles lines sold under the brand Cagiva. Most of its motorcycles are sold in Europe via 500 dealers. Harley-Davidson, Inc. plans to continue to operate MV Agusta Group from its headquarters based in Varese, Italy. MV Augusta acquisition is intended primarily to expand Harley-Davidson presence and footprint in Europe, complementing the Harley-Davidson and Buell motorcycle families.

Harley-Davidson Challenges Female Film Makers to Capture the Spirit of Women Riders in Special Contest

MILWAUKEE (July 2, 2008) – To help inspire women to get into the sport of motorcycling, Harley-Davidson announced a special contest challenging female film makers to capture the passion, spirit, independence and empowerment that embodies the spirit of female riders.
Female film makers are encouraged to submit a two minute film about women riders to the Motor Company for the chance to win $5,000, a new High Definition video camera, Harley-Davidson MotorClothes® and the opportunity to showcase their film at a premiere party in Los Angeles.
Over the past several years, women have increasingly embraced the sport of motorcycling – seeking the freedom and adventure associated with the open road, polished chrome and a sweet sounding engine. The number of women who have purchased new Harley-Davidson motorcycles has tripled over the past 20 years, with women now accounting for nearly 12 percent of new Harley-Davidson motorcycle purchases.
“More women are getting off the back of the bike and climbing into the seat of their own motorcycle as they see others realizing their dream of riding,” said Leslie Prevish, women’s outreach manager for Harley-Davidson Motor Company. “This contest aims to capture the passion, self-confidence and beauty of female riders and inspire those who are thinking about riding to grab life by the handlebars and hit the open road.”  Female film makers from across the country are encouraged to enter the Bikes, Camera, Action! Contest and can submit their films between now and September 30, 2008.  For more information about the contest, including the official rules, visit www.bikescameraaction.tv.

Here is Brenda Fox at the Bonneville Salt Flats last year.
Brenda Fox at Bonneville Salt Flats
For the past two years Brenda attended the Bub Speed trials supporting ex-fiancé Roger Goldammer, the Canadian builder of these custom bikes. You may recognize the bike she is sitting on "Experimental" a two stroke 250 bike from the Discovery Channel's Biker Build Off. that also featured Matt Hotch. Goldammer made arrangements for Brenda to be there when he ran the two stroke at Bonneville.
